LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health Foundation recently funded feminine care packs to serve patients at various Baptist Health points of access. The feminine care packs were purchased through the generosity of the Grace Steuri Lecture Series Fund. This fund supports women’s health education initiatives honoring Steuri’s commitment to women’s health care and education.
Baptist Health will use these feminine care packs to serve women at community wellness programs, mobile health units, women’s clinics and other Baptist Health programs. The care packs include a tampon, pad, panty liner, panty, feminine wipe, ibuprofen, organic dark chocolate bar and educational materials.
“Through the enduring generosity of the Grace Steuri Lecture Series Fund, Baptist Health Foundation is turning a shared passion for women’s health into practical, everyday support,” said Janet K. Marshall, chief development officer. “Providing these care packs allows us to meet women where they are with essential health education and real-time solutions that honor Grace’s passion for women’s health.”
In Arkansas, 1 in 5 women and girls between the ages of 12 and 44 live below the federal poverty line. Providing feminine care packs ensures that patients have access to essential menstrual health products and education, emphasizing Baptist Health’s dedication to providing comprehensive patient care.
“Menstrual care is basic health care,” said Dr. Kalena Jones, director of community health programs at Baptist Health. “When someone enters our care, we want them to feel seen, supported and treated with complete dignity. Distributing these care packs along with accessible health education, ensures women leave Baptist Health feeling prepared and supported. It is a simple gesture that delivers an enormous sense of comfort and confidence.”
