Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” – Psalm 91
The Psalm 91 Fund supports families and patients at Baptist Health who are not able to pay for general necessities such as hotel rooms, meals, travel, and equipment vital to their recovery.
Unexpected or extended stays at a hospital can place a real burden on a patients and their family members. Psalm 91 will provide gas cards to those traveling from out of town, cafeteria money for meals in a Baptist Health cafeteria, prescriptions, utility bills, and equipment just to name a few.
In 1995, Mr.and Mrs. Van Vranken established the fund as grateful patients for the care that Baptist Health provided to their daughter, Emily. Emily was involved in a tragic car accident and was admitted to Baptist Health Rehab Institute. The Van Vranken’s spent countless hours at the hospital as their daughter received care. During their time at Baptist Health, they realized many families do not have the financial means to stay close to loved ones without worrying about where they will sleep or how they will eat.
Psalm 91 Fund has also provided:
- Psalm 91 Recreation Room – located on the 3rd floor of Baptist Health Rehab Institute, families can come to receive peace and respite while their loved ones recover.
- Psalm 91 Garden – located outside of the front entrance of Baptist Health Rehab Institute to offer therapeutic rest and relaxation to patients, families and Baptist Health Employees.
Your generous donations can make a huge difference everyday in the life many families at Baptist Health.
